The Green Light Unplugged Project will be celebrating with a showcase finale at Kingskerswell Church on Sunday 2nd April, 7pm. The project was set up to provide an introductory platform for aspiring songwriters and musicians whilst raising awareness and funds for Macmillan Cancer Support in Devon.
Artists were invited to play over a series of 12 gigs across the South West region, with technical support from the Music students at South Devon College. A total of 65 artists played in a number of venues ranging from Plymouth to Exeter- including the unique setting of Kent’s Cavern.
In exchange for a £3 donation performers were able to submit a track to enter a competition to win a place on a compilation album, recorded at produced at the College. Judges included producers Digby Smith, Pete Day and South Devon College Programme Coordinator, Simon Gregg.
BBC Introducing’s James Santer will be hosting the official album launch and showcase this Sunday- where the winning acts will be performing 2 songs each.
Tickets for the Album Launch and Showcase are £9 from Graham by calling 01803 875527.
The album, ‘Green Light Unplugged- Coffee and Song’ will be available to buy at local stockists and on iTunes, Deezer and Spotify from 12pm on Sunday 2nd April.
