The Governing Body at South Devon College currently has a vacancy and is keen to receive expressions of interest from those in the local community, especially those with a finance or business background.
South Devon College is a dynamic and outstanding further education college providing an exciting and varied range of learning opportunities for the diverse communities within Torbay and the surrounding areas.
The College’s Mission is “Inspiring our community through learning”. As a member of the Governing Body you will use your experience and expertise to help set the strategic development of the College, and ensure that all of its activities are conducted to the highest possible standard. We have a number of forthcoming vacancies on our Governing Body and would welcome expressions of interest from all sections of our community. As a Governor, duties include attending and contributing to meetings of the Governing Body and relevant committees depending upon your knowledge and skills, and acting as a critical friend and ambassador for the College. Meetings will normally take place on Thursdays in late afternoon or early evening. Being a College governor is a voluntary role, where you give of your time and experience to work with other like-minded people to benefit the development of the College and the local community.
