South Devon College are pleased to offer a one-day taster event to gain an insight into Leadership and Management. Our knowledgeable, industry experienced staff will guide you through the subject.
The day is split into 3 sessions, each one providing a taste of the subject and offering more information about the wide range of courses available at South Devon College.
An outline of the day :
Session 1: 09:30 – 11.30 Digital Marketing with Annette Harpham
‘Digital marketing’ can seem like a mysterious world, ruled by algorithms and the tech-savvy. Many business owners know the opportunities are there, but struggle to apply them, or fear being left behind or confused by the latest jargon.
This taster session will provide a framework to help you understand the principles of engaging with your customers and promoting your organisation online. We will also explore online customer behaviour; key digital promotion tools; measurement; and of course, some of that jargon.
Session 2: 12:00 – 14:00 Coaching & Mentoring with Diana Case
If ‘growth and comfort don’t coexist’, how might a coach get the balance right?
‘Growth and comfort don’t coexist’ is a quote from Ginni Rometty, when CEO of IBM. Initially speaking about business, Rometty later spoke about how she believed this held true elsewhere, for nations and for people. It also a consideration for those seeking to coach others, especially within their own organisation. After introducing the concept of coaching, this taster session will briefly explore how a coach might choose, in the moment, between growth and comfort – between challenging and nurturing?
Session 3: 14:30 – 16:30 Project Management with Simon Coverdale
This session will cover: How a project differs from business as usual; the key project roles; the core lifecycle of project management and the decision points that govern it; the content of the project plan; some key supporting leadership skills and the importance of an agreed project management methodology and trained staff in driving an organisation to project success.
Register today to find out more.
Each session is run independently and you will have the option to choose 1, 2 or book on to all 3.
After registration a member of the team will be in touch to confirm your booking.
