The travel and hospitality industry is a vibrant and continually evolving sector, with a vast range of exciting career opportunities. Hospitality and customer care skills are also essential to any role that you take on in the future.
This course will enable you to progress your career in several directions having developed a range of skills for a range of sectors. The course is assessed by coursework and involves both practical and theoretical lessons, as well as individual and group work. Upon successful completion, you will have the opportunity to progress to further study.
Alternatively, you could progress to an apprenticeship or you could seek employment in the industry, travel agencies or in any customer service roles so that you can immediately put skills you develop at College into practice.
The travel industry scope and size is worldwide and all sectors are continually seeking to recruit newly qualified, confident and enthusiastic personnel. You will be able to demonstrate immediately the soft skills and industry knowledge that you developed at South Devon College, and have a great chance to land that dream job.
Course Details
- You must have a GCSE Grade 3(D) in Maths
- You must have a GCSE Grade 3(D) in English
- You will need to have achieved a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3(D) or above
- You should have a genuine interest in this subject
- You must be willing to take part in group discussions and practical activities

Shaun started teaching after spending 23 years in the Infantry, leaving as a Company Sergeant Major. During his time he has under taken many roles within the Infantry from a Mortar Fire Controller to working within Intelligence gathering. Shaun has served in Northern Ireland seven times, Europe, Africa, America, Bosnia and Afghanistan.
