RYA Day Skipper Theory
This course covers a comprehensive introduction to chartwork navigation meteorology and the basics of seamanship. It will be invaluable for learning how to start making decisions on board and if you are considering taking the Day Skipper practical course.
Day Skipper Theory prepares you as a Skipper to navigate familiar waters by day while also introducing you to basic night navigation. It is the starting point for most Skippers as they start to learn how to make decisions on board and develop knowledge and skills. Covering navigation through paper-based techniques and electronic aids to navigation. The course will take place at our state-of-the-art Marine Academy located on the banks of the river Dart.
This course is delivered over five days, covered in 40 hours. The course will conclude with an exam, if passed a certificate will be issued.
This is a commercial course and the fee is a fixed cost of £450 for all applicants.
