Painting and Decorating Apprenticeship Level 2
The Apprenticeship standard in Painting and Decorating is designed to cover all of the essential aspects of this practical trade. You will learn across three key areas; skills, knowledge and behaviours.
You will learn within the College environment as well as in the workplace.

Course Details
- You will be assessed on your English and maths to ensure you are at a suitable level
Erecting and dismantling access/working platforms in the workplace.
Preparing surfaces for painting and decorating in the workplace.
Applying paint systems by brush, roller and spray equipment in the workplace.
Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace.
Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace.
Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace.
Suitable employers will cover all aspects of the Painting and Decorating trade on a regular basis. To be able to train and develop apprentices skills, knowledge and behaviours.
Painters and Decorators operate in domestic and commercial properties and undertake the decoration and protection of buildings. Properties include houses, schools, offices, hospitals factories and construction sites. Working internally or externally they work individually and/or as part of a team applying water-borne and/or solvent-borne paint coatings and wallcoverings.
