Nurture, Educate, Support, Thrive (NEST) Level 1
If you’ve found traditional learning environments difficult in the past and need extra support to feel confident in education, the N.E.S.T. programme at South Devon College is here to help you take your next steps in a supportive and therapeutic setting.
Nurture, Educate, Support, Thrive (N.E.S.T) is designed as a gentle introduction – or reintroduction – into college life. It’s especially suited to individuals with high levels of anxiety, a history of emotionally-based school avoidance (EBSA), or those who have faced barriers in mainstream education. This course acts as a stepping stone to further learning, helping you build resilience, trust, and confidence at a pace that works for you.
You’ll join a small, supportive group of students and work with experienced staff who understand your needs. The environment is calm, nurturing and adapted to help you feel safe, valued and ready to learn.
As part of this vocational qualification, you’ll explore personal development through key topics including:
Improving Confidence
Assertiveness
Interpersonal Skills
Independent Living Skills
Everything is delivered with wellbeing in mind, helping you to reconnect with learning and discover your strengths.
If you’re looking for a fresh start in education with the right support around you, N.E.S.T offers the space and understanding to help you grow.
