MOT Testing (Classes 1 and 2) Award Level 2
This Level 2 qualification is designed for individuals looking to advance their career by becoming a qualified MOT Tester for Class 1 and 2 vehicles (motorcycles). Upon successful completion, candidates will be eligible to apply for the DVSA final observed assessment to gain their Certificate of Competence (CoC), allowing them to become a Nominated Tester.
Entry Requirements
To undertake this qualification and apply to become an MOT Tester, you must:
Hold a full, current UK driving licence for the relevant vehicle classes
Be a skilled mechanic with a minimum of four years’ full-time experience servicing and repairing the vehicle types you wish to test (apprentices with four years of employment are also eligible)
Have no unspent criminal convictions related to the MOT scheme, motor trade, or involving violence or intimidation
Be considered ‘of good repute’
