Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector Level 1
This course is designed to give you an introduction into the hairdressing industry whilst completing ten units, most with a practical and theory element. You will gain the practical skills of shampooing and conditioning, styling women’s and men’s hair, hair up styles for all occasions, setting and plaiting, health and safety, reception service and consultation. You will also be introduced to colouring and cutting which will help you advance on to the Level 2 hairdressing diploma. During your time on this course you will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of workshops and seminars as well as guest speakers and trips to industry related exhibitions. Kit: You will need to purchase a full hairdressing kit. Uniform requirements: Smart black clothes, black, comfortable, closed toe and closed heel shoes Assessment: Practical assessment as well as assignments and online tests If you are aged 19 and over, you may have options to help fund your studies with us.
This course may offer funding for those who are over 19, have been resident in the UK for three years, with the exception of those who live within a devolved adult education area and those currently enrolled on an apprenticeship please click here for more information.
