Introduction to Caring for Children Certificate Level 1
This 1 year program is a practical course that introduces working with children under 5. Learn about importance of play in our practical skills room which is laid out as an Early Years setting.
Explore how important it is to promote independence and manage risk taking in our onsite Forest School.
Host stay and plays for visiting groups of children,
go out and about in the local community to discover what provisions and support are available for children and parents.
This course is assessed through building a portfolio of evidence of knowledge and skills.
You able to retake Maths and English alongside your studies.

If the amount shown is more than £0.00 and you are aged 19 and over at the start of the course, you may have options to help fund your studies with us. The funding you can receive depends on your personal circumstances, and could mean you are entitled to fully subsidised or reduced tuition fees.
Many of our courses are fully funded for 16-18 year olds however not all courses are available for this age group.
You may also be entitled to support with travel, childcare and equipment.

Debbie is very experienced in early years education having worked in the childcare industry, both in practice and management, for many years. She has a Level 4 qualification in Leadership and Management, Level 4 in Education and Training, and the A1 Assessing qualification. Most recently, she has completed the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training. Debbie is the course manager for the adult’s level 3 Early Years Workforce programme, and assesses students in their work place to support competency and practical skills. She's passionate about promoting professional practice and supporting students on their journey through further education to gain employment in the early years sector.Debbie Shore
