Geography

A Level Geography students will have a natural ability to see the processes apparent in nature and will be keen to understand them further. You will study four modules during the AS Level on this course: coastal environments, river processes, population change and energy issues. Assessment is through two exams; one on modular content and the other on geographical skills. You will then progress to study a further four modules at A2, covering plate tectonic, ecosystems, development and globalisation and finally, world cities. During your studies over both years you will also be conducting field research during various trips.

What will I learn?

“I joined the College to study GCSEs, including Chemistry, English and Maths. I wanted to work in veterinary science, so I then progressed to a range of science-based A Levels, and after gaining A grades in all subjects, I was able to continue onto a Veterinary Science degree at Cambridge University. I can now look forward to a career in something I’m passionate about, and I can’t wait to get started.”James Hawkesby
