General Welder (Arc Processes) Apprenticeship Level 2
Welding is used extensively and in almost every sector of industry. There is a high demand for skilled General Welders in areas such as: automotive, marine, transport, general fabrication, construction and many more. This apprenticeship will provide you with the skills and knowledge to produce a variety of welded joints to industry standard whilst using a mix of welding techniques, processes and parent materials.
This course is suitable for learners with little or no prior welding experience and will help develop the skills, knowledge and behaviour required to progress with the welding industry.

Course Details
- You must have a grade 2 (E) or Level 1 functional skills in English and maths
How to position, prepare and check the welding equipment
How to produce good quality welds using two welding process's and material types
Demonstrate the correct health and safety requirements when completing welding activities
Become aware of the basic mechanical properties and weldability of welded materials
Understand the terminology, operation and controls for the selected arc welding processes, joint types and welding positions
Identify and understand the causes of typical welding defects and how their occurrence can be reduced, for the materials and welding processes selected

If the amount shown is more than £0.00 and you are aged 19 and over at the start of the course, you may have options to help fund your studies with us. The funding you can receive depends on your personal circumstances, and could mean you are entitled to fully subsidised or reduced tuition fees.
Many of our courses are fully funded for 16-18 year olds however not all courses are available for this age group.
You may also be entitled to support with travel, childcare and equipment.
