GCSE Biology Level 2
In this GCSE Biology evening course you will start with the basic building block of life, the cell and how genetic information is passed on from generation to generation.
You will build on this knowledge to see how cells build organs and organisms, and how animals and plants interact with each other in their ecosystems. You will learn through a mixture of lectures, internet-based research and group activities, as well as practical laboratory sessions, to develop your understanding of scientific procedures and data processing.
You will be required to participate fully in class discussions, which are designed to encourage you to identify the many ethical issues associated with scientific advances in Biology. This course is ideal for anyone with a general interest in Biology or for those who wish to study sciences, including health sciences, at a higher level. A Biology GCSE also meets the requirement for a science GCSE for degrees including Teaching.
Please note: this course is designed to provide you with a ‘stepping stone’ on the journey towards achieving a GCSE. Be aware that the amount listed below is an upfront cost and if you choose to continue with the full GCSE, you may need to pay an additional fee of £539.00.

The end point assessment project has enabled me to showcase my new skills by designing a solution to a business need. Amy Law – HR Advisor, Core Highways
