Functional Skills Mathematics
Refreshing or developing your skills in maths can have a significant, positive impact that lasts a lifetime. The ability to use numbers confidently is essential in a variety of careers, but can also benefit you greatly in your day-to-day life and open up possibilities you hadn’t previously considered.
We offer Functional Skills in Mathematics at Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2. These courses run throughout the academic year, with classes available during the daytime and evening, starting in the Autumn, Spring and Summer Terms. You will study for 2 hours per week for 10 weeks and if ready, you will take an exam during week 11.
Before enrolling on a course you will be required to complete an assessment so that we can identify what level is most appropriate for you and ensure you get the most out of your studies. Calculations adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
Fractions, decimals and percentages
Perimeter, area and volume
2D & 3D shapes
Ratio and scale drawings
Metric measures
Formula
Handling data – Charts, tables and graphs

If the amount shown is more than £0.00 and you are aged 19 and over at the start of the course, you may have options to help fund your studies with us. The funding you can receive depends on your personal circumstances, and could mean you are entitled to fully subsidised or reduced tuition fees.
Many of our courses are fully funded for 16-18 year olds however not all courses are available for this age group.
You may also be entitled to support with travel, childcare and equipment.
