French for Beginners – Term 1 Entry Level
Learn the basics of the French language. You will be introduced to various language learning skills, including autonomous learning and how to approach some authentic material.
You will develop skills in autonomous learning and how to approach some authentic material. Some transferable skills will also be covered.
This course is for complete Beginners.
Over the course of study, teaching is designed to help students to remember in the long term the content they have been taught so that they can communicate confidently in French.
By the end of this course, you will be to communicate in and understand French on a number of practical everyday matters and also have gained confidence in understanding and communicating in French thus allowing you to use these skills when visiting French speaking countries.
Assessment is used to help students embed and use knowledge fluently; to check understanding and inform teaching
New vocabulary and grammatical points will be introduced and the students will have plenty of opportunity to practise and consolidate their new knowledge.

counting in French (price, quantities etc.)

asking simple questions

If the amount shown is more than £0.00 and you are aged 19 and over at the start of the course, you may have options to help fund your studies with us. The funding you can receive depends on your personal circumstances, and could mean you are entitled to fully subsidised or reduced tuition fees.
Many of our courses are fully funded for 16-18 year olds however not all courses are available for this age group.
