Esports (Content Creation & Management) Diploma Level 2
You will learn within a state-of-the-art practical and technical environment introducing you to Esports, skills and strategies, enterprise and entrepreneurship in the Esports industry; as well as developing your skills for single player and multi-player team events. Esports has extensively grown in recent years, creating hundreds of new jobs in the entertainment industry worldwide. You will also cover a wide range of transferable skills including; organising competitions, coaching players and commentating on games (shoutcasting).
This course allows for practical and professional skills development. You will create business plans to build teams, create online communities and promote your events through digital marketing. Additionally, in this growth sector, the impact of key emerging topics such as; ethical and legislative regulations, psychology for Esports performance and nutrition for Esports performance and how they are affecting the Esports environment will be explored.
As well as the mandatory units of study stated above, you will also have the opportunity to choose optional units, including;
Producing an Esports brand
Games Design
Video Production
Psychology for Esports
Ultimately, this course will provide you with opportunities to progress within the exciting Esports gaming industry as well as providing you opportunities to pursue a career relating to sales, marketing or event management. The course allows you to develop entrepreneurship and enterprise skills to create a start-up business or gain employment in a large-scale organisation. Additionally, with successful completion, there are opportunities to progress to higher-level qualifications such as a Level 3 Esports Diploma, Level 3 Games Production, Level 3 Business

You will learn using new, industry-standard software and equipment in our state-of-the-art Hi Tech & Digital Centre. Everything in the Centre is designed to reflect the equipment that professionals use, preparing you to enter the industry with the skills you need to succeed.
Furthermore, if you are a keen gamer, there is the opportunity to join College-based Esports teams and events as a social enrichment activity.
This is a Pearson Edexcel BTEC qualification that has been developed in partnership with the British Esports Association and is equivalent to A Levels.
For this course, students will need to bring their own wired headsets.
Course Details
- You will be required to have achieved English at Level 1
- You will be required to have achieved Maths at Level 1
- You will need to have achieved a minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade 3(D) or above
- You should have a genuine interest in this subject
