Equality and Diversity Certificate (Online) Level 2
Britain is a culturally diverse nation that respects and values the differences in people. Companies are legally required to follow a set of practices to ensure discrimination is eradicated and expectations of equality are met.
This online course will cover the wide-ranging legislation that is essential in creating a workplace that is centred on fairness, dignity and respect.
To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity, students are required to successfully complete all 3 mandatory units.
1) Equality and Diversity in Society.
In this unit the student will consider what is meant by the terms ‘equality’ and ‘diversity’. They will develop an understanding of the effects of stereotyping, labelling, prejudice and discrimination and will start to understand the different characteristics that make us who we are.
2) Equality and Diversity in the Community.
In this unit the student will consider the extent and the value of diversity within a chosen community. As part of this they will develop an understanding of the potential inequalities which can occur within a community and the support services and groups which exist to ensure equality and diversity is maintained.
3) Equality and Diversity in the Workplace.
In this unit the student will develop an understanding of the meaning of equality and diversity in the workplace. This will include how equality and diversity is monitored in the workplace and how the rights of individuals are protected.
This qualification will enhance applicant potential in any job role or industry and is particularly relevant for those working in the following sectors:
equality and diversity officer / equalities officer
advice worker
community development worker
community education officer
housing manager/officer
human resources officer
social worker

It is also ideal for those who need to develop an awareness of issues surrounding equality and diversity

I’ve recently completed my Level 5 HR Consultant Partner Apprenticeship at South Devon College and have enjoyed every minute! South Devon College has provided me with the tools and resources I needed to complete the course. My tutor and colleagues were extremely supportive and created an open environment to encourage participation and the sharing of ideas! Doing an apprenticeship has allowed me to apply knowledge that I’ve learnt during the course into real life situations. The end point assessment project has enabled me to showcase my new skills by designing a solution to a business need. Amy Law – HR Advisor, Core Highways
