This apprenticeship will provide you with practical work-based learning and academic study in a wide range of environmental and sustainability subjects, at the heart of global changes affecting the world today.
You will come to appreciate that sustainability is a key component of virtually all types of business models where profit and growth are a means to an even greater end, such as protecting the environment and improving societal sustainability. The programme is interdisciplinary, dynamic, examining a range of theories, issues and subjects relating to sustainability within industries and organisations.
Studying with experienced and passionate lecturers about social and environmental change, you will begin to bridge theory and practice and applying this to your developing professional practice.
During this apprenticeship, you will engage with fascinating and contemporary subjects including environmental justice, social change and global challenges, sustainable business and corporate responsibility, protected areas, rewilding, climate change and living environments, ecopsychology and transformative education. The modules interlink a wide range of topics to support you to work in many different sectors related to sustainability. You will become key actors to build more resilient and sustainable societies for all. You will develop research skills to enable you to undertake field work, and enhance your academic skills such as critical and inclusive thinking, writing, and creativity.
Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (CR&S) Practitioners are found in all industries and are increasingly a key component of virtually all types of business models where profit and growth are a means to an even greater end, such as protecting the environment and improving societal sustainability.
Course Details
- You must have a GCSE Grade 4(C) in Maths
- You must have a GCSE Grade 4(C) in English
- You must have completed an appropriate vocational qualification at Level 3
Each module is worth a specified number of credits: you take a combination of compulsory (and if available optional modules) enabling you to cover key subject knowledge while developing your own interests. For full time students a total of 120 credits will be studied in each academic year. In the majority of cases this will consist of 6 modules. For part time students it will depend on the intensity of your studies.

If the amount shown is more than £0.00 and you are aged 19 and over at the start of the course, you may have options to help fund your studies with us. The funding you can receive depends on your personal circumstances, and could mean you are entitled to fully subsidised or reduced tuition fees.
Many of our courses are fully funded for 16-18 year olds however not all courses are available for this age group.
You may also be entitled to support with travel, childcare and equipment.
