Business Studies A Level
A Level Business runs over two years where you will develop an enthusiasm for studying business, whilst gaining a holistic understanding of business in a range of contexts.
The course aims to develop a critical understanding of organisations and their ability to meet society’s needs and wants. You will have the opportunity to generate enterprising and creative approaches to business opportunities, problems and issues.
You will also acquire a range of relevant business and generic skills, including decision-making, problem-solving, the challenging of assumptions and critical analysis.
You will study three components over two years:
Business opportunities and functions, this includes the following topics: marketing, finance, human resources and operations management.
Business analysis and strategy, this includes: data analysis, strategy and implementation, decision-making models and investment appraisal.
Business in a changing world, this includes: change, risk management, PEST factors, international trade and globalisation.

- You must have 5 GCSEs at Grade 4(C) or above
