Animal Management Technical Diploma Level 3
If you’re passionate about animals and looking to develop a career in the industry, the Level 3 Technical Diploma in Advanced Animal Management (540) at South Devon College is the ideal next step. This full-time, one-year course provides you with the core skills and knowledge needed to progress in animal care and prepare for further study or employment.
Throughout the course, you’ll explore key areas such as animal behaviour and communication, feeding and nutrition, and animal biological systems. You’ll be learning through a combination of classroom study and hands-on experience in our industry-standard animal care facilities, helping you build confidence and real-world skills.
Assessment is a mix of externally set and internally marked assignments. Core units are evaluated through a synoptic assignment and a formal external exam, both set by City & Guilds. Optional units are assessed through a series of assignments that are issued across the academic year, keeping you focused, on track and supported throughout your learning journey.
Successful completion of this course opens the door to further progression. You’ll have the opportunity to move into the second year of study and complete the City & Guilds Advanced Animal Management Technical Extended Diploma Level 3, gaining a full Level 3 Advanced Extended Diploma at the end of your two years.

- You will need to achieved a minimum of 6 GCSEs at grade 4 (C) including English, Maths, Biology, and three other subject areas.

Many of our courses are fully funded for 16-18 year olds however not all courses are available for this age group.
