Access to Higher Education Diploma: Humanities
The Access to Higher Education Diploma: Humanities is perfect for those aiming to pursue new careers in a multitude of sectors, including education (primary, secondary, and postcompulsory), journalism, the heritage sector, the civil service, and many more areas.
You will study four distinct subjects: Literary Studies, History, Sociology, and Study Skills. Over the course of the year you will develop the skills necessary to progress onto university study. Past students have progressed to a multitude of different degrees, ranging from History, English Literature, and Social Sciences, as well as more specialist pathways (for example Theatre Studies, Events Management, and Korean Studies)
• It is desirable if you have a clear idea of the university course that you would like to apply for
• Please check your HE institute choice/s for their entry requirements
• Both Maths and English GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) are required for all Access Diplomas (exceptions will be considered if you do not need this criteria in order to progress to your selected Higher Education Institute).
You may be able to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to pay for your course fees, which you will not have to repay if you progress to University and complete your degree.
