South Devon College’s Young Parents group have been busy making advent calendars for their children as part of their Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award Skill section. They have been working hard every week with Rebecca and Lynn, learning how to work with materials and embroidery. As a result, they have produced some beautiful advent calendars.
Work on the advent calendars started in September this year. The Mums made good use of the creche facilities so that their babies could carry on having fun whilst they had some time to focus on themselves, developing their skillset and also having a laugh with their friends.
The Young Parents group are taking part in their DofE for the first time this year, and have been extremely impressive in the way they have approached all of their sections. They have been helping out in the crèche and are planning to take part in local community projects in the New Year. They have already started planning a fitness programme ready for their Expedition next summer as well.
We are immensely proud of their work and how they are continuing to develop on top of being great mums to their children. We hope their little ones enjoy their beautiful advent calendars and have a very merry Christmas.
