South Devon College is celebrating after being recognised by City & Guilds for the high quality and standard of its apprenticeship provision.
Presented to the college by leading awarding organisation City & Guilds, the accolade was one of only 100 end-point assessment (EPA) awards given out to educational providers across the whole of the UK.
“It was a pleasure to present South Devon College their Excellence of EPA delivery plaque today,” said Kerry Dunkley, South West Business Development Manager for City & Guilds.
“This plaque has been awarded for the number of distinctions the college has achieved across a variety of Degree Apprenticeship Standards. We are delighted to mark the quality of South Devon College’s apprenticeship provision and look forward to hearing about more success stories moving forward,” continued Kerry.
“Congratulations and well done to all of the teams involved at South Devon College, it was great to see you!”
Steve Endicott is one of the Plumbing lecturers at South Devon College. He explained what it is that makes the college’s delivery of EPAs so successful in his department.
“We focus on developing independence, resilience, attention to detail, skills that will make a positive contribution to the local economy. Our apprentices will develop and practise the skills required for employment in gas engineering such as relevant gas safety principles, installing and maintaining appliances, such as gas cookers, fires, and central Heating Boilers. On completion of the Level 3 Diploma in Gas Engineering qualification, learners will have met the criteria needed to progress through the gateway onto End-point Assessment.”
Matthew Harbour, Vice Principal at South Devon College, said “we are extremely proud to have had this recognition from City & Guilds.”
“It speaks volumes of the dedication and hard work our teams here at South Devon College put into apprentices and their learning.”
“The plaque will serve as a great reminder to all that walk through the doors of the college that we deliver training for apprenticeships to the highest quality and always strive to maintain that excellence.”
