Student from South Devon College selected by University of the Arts London to exhibit their work at Origins Creatives in London this month.
Mantvydas Visciulis, 19, has been selected to exhibit their work at Origins Creatives, taking place at the Truman Brewery in July.
Mantvydas’ submission, titled Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, explores a facility for a Post-Traumatic Stress disorder rehabilitation centre. He chose to direct his focus on the trauma that has been caused by war – present situations, in individuals who have either fought within a war or tried to escape from one. He is hoping to educate, as well as inform his audience about the disorder, and its direct impact on everyday life.
This caught the attention of UAL Awarding Body’s curator amongst nearly 500 submissions and is now going to be exhibited in the London Origins Creatives art exhibition.
Mantvydas is currently studying a diploma level 3 foundation studies Art and Design. He specialises in architecture and has received a full range of unconditional university offers. His Final Major Project is a phenomenally designed refuge centre for people, who are affected by post traumatic stress disorder.
He said… “Most of the challenges faced during the project came from turning my ideas into a physical projection of work. However, this was also my favourite aspect of my final work. The ability to educate myself at the same time as developing a meaningful piece of architectural work has developed me as an artist and a person, as I have attempted to create something that would have a positive impact on society.”
Mantvydas also said… “I want my work to inspire improvement within the world and dwell in sensitive topics that most are not comfortable to tackle.”

Origins Creatives is organised by UAL Awarding Body and provides art lovers, critics and industry professionals from the creative sector the chance to discover original creative talent from across the UK and celebrate students’ creativity and hard work.
The free exhibition showcases work from some of the UK’s most talented students in FE institutions studying across the UAL subject areas of Art and Design, Fashion Business and Retail, Creative Media, Music Performance and Production and Performing Arts.
