Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Professional Short Course

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Professional Short Course

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to EDI principles, legal responsibilities and practical implementation in the workplace. Over three days, you will explore the Equality Act 2010, protected characteristics and the organisational benefits of inclusive practice.

  • Day one introduces key concepts such as fairness, belonging, unconscious bias, stereotyping and microaggressions. Through case studies and reflective exercises, you will assess how discrimination manifests and how inclusive behaviours can be fostered.

  • Day two focuses on policies, processes and cultural considerations. You will analyse real examples of recruitment, communication, leadership and team working practices, identifying both barriers and enablers of inclusion. You will develop confidence in applying inclusive language and creating environments that support psychological safety and equity of opportunity.

  • The final day centres on practical organisational implementation. You will explore frameworks for inclusive leadership, employee voice, allyship, reasonable adjustments and the role of data in identifying inequalities. You will work in groups to design an outline EDI action plan suited to your own organisational context.

By the end of the course, participants will understand the strategic and moral importance of EDI and be able to contribute to creating inclusive, respectful, and high performing workplaces

Choose the study route that works best for you:

  • complete the full qualification in just 4 days, including an additional assessment day to gain accreditation

  • or attend a 3-day programme for a CPD-only option.

Whether you’re looking to achieve a recognised qualification or simply enhance your professional development, this flexible structure allows you to tailor the course to your goals and availability.
