Getting Ready for Higher Education 2026-27

A very warm welcome to University Centre South Devon!

Between now and the 2nd of November, there a few steps you need to undertake to help you get ready to be a Higher Education student at University Centre South Devon. To help you in this process we have broken down the things you need to do into the three periods; pre-enrolment, enrolment and induction. 

• Attend our HE Student applicant event
• Ensure you have accepted your offer via UCAS or email. If you are unsure of your offer conditions, please call us 08000 213 181
• Apply for Student Finance – Apply online for student finance – GOV.UK
• Declare any disabilities and apply for disable students support, if applicable. Contact [email protected] if you need support with this.

• Following receipt of your enrolment instructions via email, complete your online enrolment
• Attend the in-person enrolment sessions to verify your ID and qualifications, have your new ID photo taken and collect your HE Student lanyard. Keep an eye on your emails for the in person enrolment schedule.
• Once you have completed your enrolment, apply for your HE Student Bursary. Instructions are attached to your enrolment email.  

• Attend your onsite induction –  Keep an eye on your emails for further information
• Complete the “Getting to know you” questionnaire
• Download your module guides
• Attend “Stepping in to HE Workshops” arranged by your Tutor
• Meet the Wellbeing Team through the Study Well Session
• Attend a library induction session in our dedicated HE library
• Meet and get to know your cohort members

Getting to know your University Centre

• Pop into the Student Support Hub to meet the team
• Check out the Student Lounge on the top floor of the University Centre
• Find the Research Centre and Study Skills Pod
• Have you sampled the cake from the café on the ground floor?
• Enjoy the Freshers Fair 29^th and 30^th September over in the College building.
