Jo has worked in the childcare industry for over 20 years, as a private nanny and a nursery manager, before attending university to train as a teacher.

She specialises in Understanding Autism, and her teaching comes from current literature and her own story within this subject. Jo has also completed a Masters degree in Childhood and Early Years and her work on Forest Schools has been published in the International Journal of Play.

She is a lecturer on the Early Years degree, a teacher in South Devon High School, and is the programme coordinator for the adult courses in Early Years, Autism and Forest School.
