Year 10: January 2021 Return Update
I am writing with an update to the arrangements for the start of the High School term in January 2021, following the announcement yesterday by Gavin Williamson, the Government’s education secretary.
It has been announced that there will be a delayed return to face to face learning in order to reduce the potential transmission of Covid-19, and to allow Schools to prepare for the mass testing of students and staff.
As per the new guidance from Government, Year 10 High School students will now access online learning for the first two weeks of term, between Tuesday 5th January and Friday 8th January 2021, and from Monday 11th January to Friday 15th January 2021. Our online delivery model is attached at the bottom of this email.
Year 10 High School students will now return to face to face learning in South Devon High School from Monday 18th January 2021.
Note that exams planned for January will still go ahead as planned, and students should continue to revise accordingly. Pupils taking Animal Care must attend School on Monday 11th January to sit this exam. Your Animal Care teacher will be in touch with additional revision advice and activity during the week of 5th – 8th January 2021.
Note that our parents evenings will go ahead as originally planned on Wednesday 27th January (Core Subjects) and Thursday 28th January (Option Subjects) between 4.00pm and 7.30pm.

As per the new guidance from Government, Year 11 High School students will now access online learning between Tuesday 5th January and Friday 8th January. Our online delivery model is attached at the bottom of this email.
Year 11 High School students will now return to face to face learning in South Devon High School from Monday 11th January 2021.
Note that all exams planned for January will still go ahead as planned, and students should continue to revise accordingly. These affect students taking Digital Media (January 11th) and Business Studies (January 13th). Teachers of these subjects will be in touch with additional revision advice and activity.
Note that our parents evening will go ahead as originally planned on Thursday 14th January, from 4.00pm – 7.30pm.
