Fifteen teams from across Europe gathered in Malaga, Spain to compete in ethical hacking challenges supported by the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security. The aim of this is to discover young and emerging cyber security talent across Europe.
Over the course of a day, Team UK took part in challenges competing against each other. Sophia was selected as the UK’s representative to deliver a presentation on hardware hacking, gaining the highest score out of all the competitors, which helped the team to finish fifth overall.
Sophia attended Kingsbridge Community College before studying Level 3 Software Development at South Devon College and has since progressed to Bournemouth University to study Cyber Security Management. As the only girl in the UK team, she hopes to raise the profile of women in Computer Science and IT.
Well done, Sophia and Team UK!
