Work and Independence Certificate

This course is all about developing your independence and building confidence, giving you personal skills you’ll need in later life, like cooking for yourself and managing money. The course involves plenty of practical activity, giving you the chance to try out lots of new things and skills. Everything you learn will help you prepare to live independently.

The course is delivered in small groups with a dedicated tutor and curriculum support assistants, who can provide any extra help required. This course is part of our Supported Learning Opportunities curriculum, which offers a laddered progression route. This particular course focuses on independent living, while there are a variety of other courses that consider different (but equally important) life skills.

The courses we offer help students develop a sense of independence and nurture their personal development, as they add more and more skills they need in day-to-day life.
