This part-time qualification is ideal if you are or would like to work or volunteer in a veterinary environment to gain knowledge and skills and a recognised qualification. You will complete units in; basic animal nursing, parasitology and zoonosis, restraint techniques, anatomy and physiology and reception skills. Within these units you will cover; first aid, health and hygiene, infection control, monitoring and basic nursing skills. This course can help you progress towards a career as a vet nurse or care assistant. No formal qualifications are needed but you must be able to communicate well, both in writing and verbally. You will work in our specialist facilities and be taught by a expert staff experienced in vet nursing.
Please note: prior to enrolment, you must have secured a 10 day work placement in a veterinary practice and have proof of placement. If you have already achieved a Level 1 qualification in Maths and English, the Level 3 course will be a fantastic progression opportunity for you.

“I’ve been a veterinary nurse for 17 years and have managed 2 surgeries, working in Paignton and Bristol as well as in Cape Town, South Africa. I love watching learners grow in confidence, and there’s no greater pleasure than seeing a student develop into an experienced professional with an exciting future ahead of them.”Donna Fowler
