This distance learning course is perfect for you if you work with children, young people, vulnerable adults, or have a legal duty in respect of Safeguarding and Prevent.
The purpose of this distance learning course is to increase your knowledge and awareness of the Prevent duty and safeguarding including online safety. Topics include; extremism, British values, cyber-bullying and online grooming. You will also gain understanding of the terms ‘radicalisation’, ‘extremism’ and ‘terrorism’, and how best to comply with the Prevent duty.
This course will support your knowledge of safeguarding in an environment where you have duty of care for others. You will learn about safeguarding and the rights that people have to stay safe, and also how best to respond to abuse or harm.
This course is designed to support the progression towards the role of ‘Designated Safeguarding Lead’.

The funding you can receive depends on your personal circumstances, and could mean you are entitled to free or reduced course fees.
