The Understanding Autism Certificate Level 2 is a fully subsidised distance learning course that is aimed at those looking to understand more about autism. Perhaps you work with people, or have a family member with this diagnosis? The course will increase your understanding of autism and how best to support individuals.
You will be sent the resources and materials in a pack to complete. The resources and materials will cover each topic in detail, allowing you to learn more about the condition. This allows you to complete the course flexibly and in the comfort of your own home. However, you are also welcome to use the college library at our Paignton campus.
Despite there being no formal classes, you will have the support of a tutor who can offer phone or face-to-face tutorials. You will have approximately 6-8 weeks to complete your two assessments. The suggested amount of time to work on this is approximately five to eight hours a week.
If you are aged 19 and over you may have options to help fund your studies with us. The funding you can receive depends on your personal circumstances, and could mean you are entitled to free or reduced course fees. You may also be entitled to support with travel, childcare and equipment. To find out exactly what you could receive, contact our Helpzone team on 08000 380 123 for a free, impartial appointment, with no commitment necessary.
Please note, you must be aged 19+ and have lived in the UK for the last 3 years. You must also be resident in the South West of England to claim full subsidy.
