UAL Digital Media: Games and Interactive Media Extended Diploma Level 3

Gaming is one of the fastest growing and thriving industries in the UK. It’s home to global software and development houses, with smaller independent studios bursting with world class talent. Whether it’s for online, console, mobile or even working on gaming hardware, there’s never been a better time to work in this rapidly growing industry.

If you want to take your love of gaming and turn that into a career, then this is definitely the course for you. It’s an advanced course that focuses on a wide range of computerbased media skills, giving you everything you need to begin a career in game and web design.

You’ll be using new, industry-standard software, such as Unreal Engine, and working in our Apple Mac suites. Everything is designed to reflect the equipment that professionals use, getting you ready to enter the industry with the skills you need to succeed.

This course is the equivalent of 3 A Levels. Once you’ve completed Level 3, you can apply to the foundation degree in Games and Interactive Design at University Centre South Devon – the perfect progression route if you want to continue your studies. This degree focuses on the technical and artistic use of digital technologies, offering you the chance to specialise in game design or app and web development.

“I chose to study the Foundation in Art and Design course and specialised in Photography. College gives you a lot more freedom, the lessons are structured more professionally which gives you an idea of what it will be like at university. I would really recommend this course if you want to grow as a designer."Alfie Reddy
