The CACHE Intermediate Level Apprenticeship for Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is designed if you are a current member of learning support staff at a school or college whose responsibilities at work are closely supervised. Whilst undertaking this apprenticeship, you will work under the direction of the class teacher whose lesson planning and day-to-day direction set the framework within which the individual works.
The Supporting Teaching and Learning apprenticeship includes training within the workplace, with training at South Devon College one day per week. After 18 months of study, successful apprentices will gain a range of qualifications from CACHE.
Successful completion of this apprenticeship ensures a learner is competent as a Teaching Assistant and provides potential progression onto career paths such as Higher Level teaching Assistant, Assistant Teacher and Teacher.
This is a 2 year programme, including a Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning from CACHE.
Your College lessons will be on a Tuesday afternoon and evening.
“During my career I have gained a broad range of skills relating to early years education and childcare, and I can now pass that knowledge on to new learners. It’s fantastic to support learners in achieving their goals and helping them find employment in this rewarding industry.”Stefanie Crinks
