Science T Level
The new T Level qualification was designed with the help of employers across the Science sector. It will prepare you to work as a science technician in research, commercial, or educational laboratories.
The qualification places a strong emphasis on work related topics such as Health and Safety, Information Systems, and Project Design and Management because these cover the skills and knowledge employers require. These topics will be delivered alongside fundamental scientific concepts in Biology, Chemistry and Physics over the two years of the course.
Your lessons will include experimental work using a range of equipment to develop the practical skills you’ll need in the workplace. You’ll also spend a minimum of 45 days in a work placement, introducing you to a real-life working environment and the sort of activities required of a laboratory technician. It will also give you invaluable experience to add to your CV when applying for jobs.
T Level qualifications are equivalent to studying 3 A Levels and carries UCAS points, so you could progress to a university degree rather than immediately entering the workforce. This would allow you to specialise in the area of science that most interests you.
