Certificate in Child Development and Wellbeing

The Certificate in Child Development and Wellbeing is perfect for adults (aged 19+) looking to work with children, progress to a Level 3 course and/or need to upskill their Maths and English GCSE grades.

On this course you will develop your knowledge of childrens’ play, learning and development. Other timetabled sessions will focus on your GCSEs and preparing you for further study.

The course will run all day on a Thursday with some flexible delivery available for maths and English.

Entry requirements are GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English at Grade E (2) or above. However, if your grades are lower please contact us for a BKSB assessment to determine your suitability.

There is a wide variety of financial support available for adults to help fund your studies with us. The funding you can receive depends on your personal circumstances, and could mean you are entitled to free or reduced course fees. You may also be entitled to support with travel, childcare and equipment. 19+ Courses marked may entitle you to an Advanced Learning Loan to help fund your studies, available for learners aged 19 or over.

Lisa is an Early Years Teacher who joined the team at South Devon College after 11 years working in the industry. Previously, she was a deputy SENDCo and the Speech, Language and Communication Lead within early years practice for many years. She is passionate about passing on my knowledge and experience to new students and supporting them to achieve their goals.
