Preparing to Work to Care (Distance Learning)

The Level 2 Preparing to Care course is designed as a distance learning programme for people who are interested in working in care or who are looking for a care based qualification prior to further employment or study.

The course will increase your understanding of what is it like to work in the care sector. You will be sent the resources and materials in a pack to complete. This allows you to complete the course flexibly and in the comfort of your own home.

However, you are also welcome to use the College library at our Paignton campus. The resources and materials will cover each topic in detail, allowing you to learn more about care work and the skills required to work in this sector. Despite there being no formal classes, you will have the support of a tutor who can offer email tutorials.

You will have approximately 1216 weeks to complete your three assessment booklets. The suggested amount of time to work on this is approximately five to eight hours a week.

“I really enjoyed studying Health and Social Care. You're treated as an adult at the College and the tutors get to know you on a personal level, they are really supportive and their knowledge is invaluable. I felt as though I grew as a person during my time there, which is so important."Caitlyn Crofts
