Prepare to Work in Adult Social Care (HSSAP) Level 1
This qualification is ideal if you have little or no previous experience, but are considering a career in adult health and social care and wish to explore the different roles in this field. It’s also a great opportunity if you are returning to work following a career break.
The course will grow your understanding of what it’s like to work in the care sector. The resources and materials will cover each topic, allowing you to learn more about care work and the skills required to work in this sector.
The course is 8-9 weeks in duration and has a blended delivery with three classroom-based sessions with your tutor in college on Wednesday mornings and access to your tutor by phone, Teams, or email. Learning resources and assessments are provided in a booklet so you can complete the course in the class and learn independently to support your achievement of the course. Whilst on campus, you’ll also have the opportunity to meet your tutor in person and visit Helpzone for career and course information, advice and guidance.

"When you start out as a Fisher you're looking between 2-4% of the total catch which is how we get paid off the top of the catch but 2-4% could be £300 a week, or it could be £1500 a week. It varies completely but I've never been to sea for less than £150 a day."Laurence Gilson
