Powerboat Handling

This two day, practical based course is a comprehensive introduction to Power Boat Handling. This course equips you with enough knowledge and skills to safely operate displacement and planing vessels within inland and costal waterways.

Course topics include;
– Practical handling of Power Boats [safe operating manoeuvres, coming alongside and mooring, anchoring, man over board and recovery techniques]
– Essential seamanship skills
– Vessel construction, parts and equipment of a power boat,
– Essential position fixing, weather and tides
– Collision regulations
– Essentials of navigation and chart work
– Emergency and safety procedures including use of flares and life jackets
The course is taught over 2 days. Assessment is through practical demonstration of Power Boat Handling.
