If you want to work in the construction industry, are physically fit, would like to work as part of team and in a variety of conditions, then this could be the career for you. The Plastering Apprenticeship combines elements of hands-on learning with classroom instruction. As a plasterering apprentice, you will learn how to apply different kinds of plaster to internal walls and ceilings to prepare them for decorating. You might also apply coatings to outside walls, such as sand and cement render or pebble-dash. After two years, successful apprentices can progress onto the advanced apprenticeship.
My time at South Devon College really helped me excel and realise my potential in the construction industry. There are more options and career paths in construction than I first thought. I started as a carpentry apprentice and I am now training with my employer to become a Site Manager. It's a great industry to get into offering huge variety, and we have a lot of fun along the way too.Ricky Collyer
