This intermediate apprenticeship in Painting and Decorating will take two years to complete and combines practical assessments, classroom instruction and tuition in English and maths. You will need to find employment with an experienced painting and decorating firm (which the College can assist you with) and will be involved in preparing surfaces for painting and applying paints with brushes, rollers and spray equipment. You will learn how to put up different styles and textures of wallpapers. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you can continue to work in the industry or start your own business as a painter and decorator.
“As a past student, I used the skills I developed to enter industry and enjoy a successful career before returning to teach. Painting and decorating is a real passion of mine, and nothing beats passing this on to our learners and preparing them for their journey in this career, which has given me so much.”Stephen Orme
