Neuroscience in the Early Years Level 2
This course will introduce you to the brain development of children and young people and the impact this has on behaviour, stress responses and wider cognitive, social and emotional development.
The course offers comprehensive online tools to support and assess your learning. It would suit those working with or supporting children and young people in education/health/social work/early years/Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
In-person workshops and networking events are offered as part of the offer over the 6 week delivery period, so that each cohort accesses a bespoke programme that fits with their identified needs and interest within the subject.
This course will be fully subsidised for those who are over 19, have been resident in the UK for three years, with an exception of those who live within a devolved adult education area and those currently enrolled on an apprenticeship – please click here for more information.

Jo has worked in the childcare industry for over 20 years, as a private nanny and a nursery manager, before attending university to train as a teacher. She specialises in Understanding Autism, and her teaching comes from current literature and her own story within this subject. Jo has also completed a Masters degree in Childhood and Early Years and her work on Forest Schools has been published in the International Journal of Play. She is a lecturer on the Early Years degree, a teacher in South Devon High School, and is the programme coordinator for the adult courses in Early Years, Autism and Forest School.Jo Button
