The primary role of a network engineer is to design, install, maintain and support communication networks within an organisation or between organisations. Network engineers need to maintain high levels of operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability for their users, such as staff, clients, customers and suppliers. The apprentice will understand network configuration, cloud, network administration and monitoring tools, and be able to give technical advice and guidance.
Apprentices will attend college one day per week for two college years. Apprentices will work in an IT environment for 4 days per week to support college training.
“I joined the College to study GCSEs, including Chemistry, English and Maths. I wanted to work in veterinary science, so I then progressed to a range of science-based A Levels, and after gaining A grades in all subjects, I was able to continue onto a Veterinary Science degree at Cambridge University. I can now look forward to a career in something I’m passionate about, and I can’t wait to get started.”James Hawkesby
