NCFE Understanding Mental Health in the Early Years Certificate Level 2
This qualification is designed for anyone wishing to understand mental health in young children, in the early years (from birth to 5 years old), and the role of the Early Years Practitioner to support childrens’ mental health and wellbeing.
Through achieving this qualification, you will develop knowledge which would support progression to further qualifications and into relevant employment in the health and social care or education sectors.
You will be sent the resources and materials in a pack to complete. The resources and materials will cover each topic in detail, allowing you to learn more about each condition we cover. This allows you to complete the course flexibly and in the comfort of your own home. However, you are also welcome to use the College library at our Paignton campus. Online course materials will be sent to support the online assessment.
Despite there being no formal classes, you will have the support of a tutor who can offer phone or face-to-face tutorials. You will have approximately 6-8 weeks to complete your assessment. The suggested amount of time to work on this is approximately 3-5 hours a week.
This course will be fully subsidised for those who are over 19, have been resident in the UK for three years, with an exception of those who live within a devolved adult education area and those currently enrolled on an apprenticeship – please click here for more information.
