Maintenance, Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing: Light and Electric Vehicles T Level
This course aims to help students understand the fundamental operating principles of light and electric vehicle systems and demonstrate maintenance and repair procedures. Students will have the opportunity to plan, perform, and evaluate their work using a variety of industry-standard tools and equipment. As a student you will learn in sector leading learning environments, such as well-equipped workshops.
Students will explore the engineering and manufacturing sectors in greater depth, gaining insight into how materials, conditions, and context impact design processes and products. You will apply essential mathematics for engineering and manufacturing, along with developing commercial and financial awareness. Additionally, students will learn about material processing techniques and their effects on both materials and material quality.
On completion of this programme, subject to entry requirements you can potentially progress to higher levels of educations and with a suitable employer an apprenticeship including degree level apprenticeship.
Course Details
- You will need to have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4(C) or above, including Maths and English
Knowledge of electrical systems and components, power sources, power units, and engine types
Knowledge of the essential mathematics and science for engineering and manufacturing.
Knowledge of how automotive components are removed, replaced, and repaired
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and mechatronic principles
An understanding of the business management required within the sector to provide a product or service with success
Skills to select and use tools, equipment, and technology safely and effectively to complete vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repair activities
