Learning and Development Support Services (Children and Young People’s Workforce) Level 3
This course is suitable for anyone who works or wants to work at a supervisory level in the children and young people’s workforce.
You will need to be working, or volunteering, in a practical placement in a school or nursery to show competence in both knowledge and skills. The taught element of the course is delivered online via Microsoft Teams and Moodle (our virtual learning environment) and you will evidence your knowledge through a variety of assessment methods, including typed assignments and portfolio work.
The knowledge work for this course is supported through online sessions held on a Wednesday evening. The skills element will be assessed in placement, and your placement must be within travelling distance for assessors based at the College (e.g. Devon/ East Cornwall).
Course Details
- You must have a GCSE Grade 4(C) in English
- You must have a GCSE Grade 4(C) in Maths
- You will need to complete a DBS Check
- You will be required to have a telephone or personal interview with the tutor
- Two professional references

Ways to support children to learn in a variety of environments, including creative and sensory environments
Ways to support children and young people's resilience and wellbeing
Ways to safeguard children and young people and recognise and respond to signs of concern
