Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship is an occupational qualification for students who work in Healthcare Support roles in England.

The qualification contains a range of units that assessors can map with employers to form a qualification to reflect your competence in your specialist area. This could include; clinical care, health navigation, care of older people, learning disability support and community support.

You will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be provided with six hours per week by your employer to support your training and development needs.

You will train on the job and gain additional qualification including the care certificate to support your development. A qualified assessor will support this development once a month as prearranged with you and your employer.

You will undertake a final assessment with an independent assessor who will grade your apprenticeship achievement as pass, merit or distinction. On successful completion of this course, you could progress into further training including a foundation degree at University Centre South Devon or higher level study in other clinical or social areas such as the lead practitioner in adult care or leadership and management in adult care, providing you are in a suitable job role.
