Junior Chef Academy – Gold
In the Junior Chef Academy at Gold Level, you will learn to develop knife skills, clean as you go and working safety. You will also learn a range of cooking methods, including boiling, steaming, frying and baking.
The course gives you the opportunity to work in a professional kitchen to a high standard of health and safety under head chef instruction. You will develop your skillset of multi-tasking as dishes are prepared.
This course will build your confidence and control of food process at one time and introduce you to Cultural Capital cuisine from all around the world, such as Mexico, Greece, Italy.
The first week the Junior Chef will be measured for chef uniform, and the uniform ordered from Russums our uniform supplier. The fee of £80.00 will pay for uniform and all food cooked on the course. You will need to bring in an appropriate plastic sealed container each week to take home for your evening tea!
The class will be start at 16:30 and end at 19:00, and on the final week, an awards ceremony will be held in Horizons, where you will prepare and deliver a two course evening meal, to family, friends and guests and receive completion certificates and appropriate badges. This will have a charge of £10 per person, the student graduation will be free.
This course is planned to run on a Tuesday each week, but this is subject to change.
