Junior Chef Academy (11-15) – Silver
In the Junior Chef Academy at Silver Level, you will continue to learn to develop your skills. You will increase your understanding of a range of cooking methods, including saute, griddling as well as the previously learned methods on the bronze course.
The course gives you the opportunity to work in a professional kitchen to a high standard of health and safety under head chef instruction. You will develop your skill set of multi-tasking as dishes are prepared.
This course will build your confidence and control of food process and introduce you to cultural capital cuisine from all around the world, such as french cuisine.
You will have been issued you chef uniform, and will be required ot wear this on each practical session. The fee of £80.00 will pay for all food cooked on the course. You will need to bring in an appropriate plastic sealed container each week to take home for your evening tea!
The class will start at 16:30 and end at 19:00, and on the final week, an awards ceremony will be held in Horizons, where you will prepare and deliver a two course evening meal, to family, friends and guests and receive completion certificates and appropriate badges. This will have a charge of £10 per person, the student graduation will be free.

How to develop knife skills, clean as you go and working safely
Continue to develop cooking skills including saute and griddling as well as basic cooking methods, boiling, steaming, frying and baking

Introduction to cultural capital cuisine from all around the world, such as Spain and France
